Hi, fellows! I'm Ruanji, it's my frist to post my work here. Not long ago, I'm working on EA MMA,creating precise heads of those famous athletes. Then suddenly I have an idea, maybe I can create
some busts based on the stars of those fantastic Sci-Fi movies, those classic pictures which drag us into this career. Here are two busts I just finished, one is based on MIB---Tommy Lee Jones, the other is from Hollowman---Kevin Bacon. I created the base model in Maya, and adjust the likeness. Then I exported them in Zbrush to polish, and it's really a perfect tool for sculpturing! Hope you like them and recall the wonderful memory of those Excellent Movies! Last edited by darkmummy : 04-26-10 at 09:25 AM. |

Both are really great resemblances! Some minor critiques: Tommy Lee Jones' face looks a bit wooden, and some of the wrinkles on Tommy Lee Jones' face look a little like cuts, rather than wrinkles. Especially, the wrinkle at the top of his nose. The clothes are well done, but Tommy Lees' collar looks like vinyl instead of a cotton & polyester blend. I especially like your Kevin Bacon. Some great work!

Here is some ZB screenshots of busts and sorry for my poor rendering skills, hope you won't mind, haha.
I just simply use mesh to create hair, so that's the best what I can do...... |

Really thanks to Derek Frenzo's comments, I do find some trouble to represent wrinkles of Tommy natural. Thanks for your advice, I will pay attention in my next scuplture work.

So far, there are five stars on my bust list,Tommy from MIB, Kevin from Hollowman, Sam Neill from Jurassic Park, Robert Patrick from Terminator2,and Sigourney Weaver from Alien!
I also think about Matrix and Independence Day ,Carrie Anne Moss and Will Smith. Those movies changed my life and devote myself into CG career. |

Thanks for all your surpport!
Here are two rough images, one is T-1000,still needs to be improved. I'm not satisfied wtih his forhead. And perhaps I made his face a little wider, I'm not quite sure of it.Because there are very few image you can find about Robert Patrick, he should be a super star. |

This image is based on a fabulous oil painting--Death of Marat.
I want to finish it after I improve the understanding of Anatomy to a higher lever, besides, I'm a junior learner of mental ray,so it would be mission impossibe for me to copy the environment and human body of the master----Jacques-Louis David. |
